University of Iowa Dance Marathon
The University of Iowa Dance Marathon is a student organization that creates and sustains special projects to provide emotional and financial support for pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant patients and their families treated at University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. The organization is a year-round endeavor, hosting many events each month including family events, fundraising and Dancer events, and the Big Event, a 24-hour Dance Marathon where thousands of students assemble to celebrate the children survivors, remember the children who have passed away, and to fight to defeat pediatric cancer. This past year was the 27th Dance Marathon in which $1,422,443.27 was raised for the kids! In the 27 year history, UIDM has raised $31,810,826.12 all For The Kids (FTK)!
